How To Plan Your Most Epic Christmas Camping Adventure

How To Plan Your Most Epic Christmas Camping Adventure

Christmas is a magical time to go camping, to spend time with friends and family relaxing in the summer sun. Whether you have a tradition to travel to the same spot each year or are looking for something new, we’ve got some ideas to make this your most epic trip yet.

Whether you’re going away for just a few days or for several weeks, some careful planning will help to ensure you have a great time. There’s a few things to consider for your Christmas camping trip:

Choose A Location

Think about whether you’d like to visit the beach, see some countryside, or climb a mountain and decide how far from home you want to travel. If you’d like to go further afield, think about how much time you have available and whether you want to spend more time driving or more time at the destination.

When comparing campsites, think about how rough or comfortable you’d like it to be, whether you’d like a powered site or not, and if it’s pet friendly.

Book Early

There’s just a few short weeks until Christmas, so if you haven’t booked a campsite yet then you’d better hurry up! Since it’s school holidays and such a popular time to travel, many caravan parks and campgrounds will be full to overflowing.

The best way to not miss out is to book early.

Plan Activities

How will you spend your time while away? Do you want to be swimming, surfing, fishing, canoeing, bush-walking? Would you like to have a campfire?

If you’ve got kids you might like to stay at a caravan park with activities like a jumping pillow, mini golf course, pool, go karts and so on. You could also consider camping beside a creek so that they can swim and muck around.

You can also bring some outdoor toys to entertain yourself and the kids for hours - like an inflatable CAOS SUP!

Don’t Forget About Christmas!

If you’re going to be away for Christmas Day itself, make sure to pack some decorations for your caravan or tent like lights and tinsel and a little tree. Take some Christmas food like cold turkey or fruit mince pies and don’t forget the presents.

There’s lots to organise for the perfect Christmas campaign adventure… just make sure you have the gear to make it a good one!
