The VSR (optional extra) acts as an isolator for a dual battery setup. The deep-cycle battery inside the box can charge directly from the main battery while the car is running. When the vehicle ignition is switched off and the battery voltage drops below 12.8V, the VSR automatically cuts the link between the deep-cycle battery and crank batteries.
